So we have managed to escape and visit the place we should have a year ago, however, this is becoming better than expected as the weather is far greater than anticipated.
He is now 4 and wild, which is the way you want people to be at that age fully on energy, hope, wanting to learning, wanting to lead, wanting to find, and he is full of these things. I find, as always, the trouble with kids is their parents and their wants, needs, desires and hopes. Finding the balance can only be achieved through reflection.
I know all parents find their kids to be charming, ‘a pleasure’, and salt of the earth and I am no different, but as we grow together in this beautiful world I can’t help but think how blessed we are to experience this journey.
And so to Whitley Bay. A beautiful rugged beach in the North-East of England, now our annual pilgrimage for the start of Summer and visiting our wonderful family. It is only a three night stay but it is magical. We eat, we talk, we solve problems (not) and we re-wind.
We didn’t do anything but that is exactly what this holiday is about.
